Head Room:
This is a camera technique where the space on top of a persons head must not be too much or too little in a shot, meaning that in a shot like close up to a person, to get a perfect head room shot you have to at least capture their whole head without cutting it out in the shot or by having too much space showing above.
Here are some images and video links i have found to show what head room actually looks like:
A youtube video tutorial on camera techniques which shows you what a head room shot is and also other different camera techniques like lead room and framing.
Here's another link to another video which shows you how and what head room should look like and how you can do it.
This is a perfect example of using head room, it shows you the correct shot of what a correct head room looks like and the mistakes you should be aware of.
Deep Focus Shot:
This is when the shot is focused on not just one thing but the whole picture, that means it even includes whats going on in the background, middle-ground and the foreground.
These are some links to videos and images of a deep focus shot:
Here you see that the camera is focused on the whole room of this scene from the man in the front to the left, to the middle-ground which is the table and the people sitting, right down to the end to the other man standing in the background.
A man pointing to a lady dancing in the background, you can tell that this is a deep focus shot because the camera is not only focusing on this guy, but what is also going on behind because the middle-ground, foreground and background is not blurred from shot.
A good example from the movie 'Citizen Kane' Of a deep focus shot.
I like Ian Eastwood because he's a good dancer and this is the best video of him dancing @WOD.
I am influenced by the way he performs and makes me feel like i can dance better than him!.
